Wayne is a lifelong resident of Hopewell and a graduate of Hopewell High School. He has been married to the former Ann Adams since 1966 and has lived in Ward 5 since that time. They have 2 children, Mary and Kenny, and 4 grandchildren. Wayne retired from Hercules Inc. with 41 years of service. Wayne served with the Virginia Army National Guard from 1965-71. Wayne has been active in many organizations over the years in the Hopewell area.

They include Friends of the Lower Appomattox River (FOLAR), United Way of Hopewell-Prince George, Hopewell-Prince George Chamber of Commerce, Governor’s Scenic River Advisory Board, Hopewell Community & Industry Panel (HCIP), Hopewell Boys & Girls Club, United Steelworkers of America, Crater Regional Workforce Investment Board, Tri-Cities United Labor Council and others. He was elected Councilor of Ward 5 on July 1, 2008 and is currently serving a four year term which ends on June 30, 2012.
