Mark Haley has been the Director of the Hopewell Regional Wastewater Treatment Facility in Hopewell, Virginia for over 34 years and was appointed by the Hopewell City Council to serve as City Manager effective November 12, 2013.
Prior to his employment in Hopewell he worked for a consulting engineering firm in New Jersey and Puerto Rico. He is a graduate of Penn State University with a B.S. in Environmental Resource Management. Mark has also attended the Senior Executive Institute at the Weldon Cooper Center at the University of Virginia. He holds a Class 1 Virginia Wastewater Operators license. Mark is also the past President and current Board member of VAMWA (Virginia Association of Municipal Wastewater Agencies) as well as a former Board member and past Chairman of the DPOR -Virginia Water and Wastewater Operators Board. He also serves on the Virginia Nutrient Credit Exchange Association Board and was the first president of this organization.
Mark lives in Hopewell with his wife Claire and they have two children, Patrick age 27 a graduate of East Carolina University and Lauren age 23 a graduate of Virginia Tech & VCU.
