Hopewell Recreation and Parks offers a variety of aquatic programs for the entire family.  The Hopewell Community Center boasts a 25-meter  heated indoor pool with depths ranging from three to thirteen feet.  Activities such as swimming lessons, water aerobics, lifeguard certification classes, and scuba diving are offered throughout the year.

Pool Hours

Monday, Wednesday – 6:30 a.m.-8 p.m.
Tuesday, Thursday – 7:30 a.m.-8 p.m.
Friday – 6:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m.
Saturday – 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
Sunday – CLOSED

Restricted Hours

  • Class time Monday through Friday, 9 -11 a.m. and 5 – 8 p.m.
  • Pool is closed from 9 – 10 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
  • Pool is open from 5 – 8 p.m. unless classes are scheduled. Lap lanes will remain open unless posted.



The Hopewell Recreation and Parks Department has partnered with Brunswick Scuba to offer a variety of scuba diving programs at the Hopewell Community Center.  Please visit for more information on programs and online registration.  Information on upcoming programs can be found on page 10 of the Winter/Spring Activity Guide.

Competitive Swimming

NOVA South (formerly known as the Virginia Association for Competitive Swimming) is dedicated to the promotion of competitive swimming in the greater Tri-Citites area.
