Kayaking & Fishing

Featuring one of the area's only accessible kayak launches, the Riverside Harbor kayak launch provides easy access into the water for persons of all abilities. The launch features a floating platform that adjusts with water levels, handrails, and rollers for easy launching. The accessible kayak launch at the Hopewell City Marina allows boaters of all ability levels the opportunity to enjoy the water.

A designated fishing area is also available at the marina with a small fishing pier and parking area. Please note that fishing is prohibited in the vicinity of the boat ramp, rental slips, and main dock. Please only fish in designated areas. A valid Virginia freshwater fishing license is required for any person fishing on the Appomattox River that is over the age of 16. Kayakers should wear a life jacket at all times.

The kayak launch is open dawn to dusk, 365 days a year, unless otherwise posted. The site features off-site parking and nearby restrooms at the Hopewell City Marina.
